MP meetings with Devon school leaders  |  Summer Term 2019
DAPH and DASH in partnership with DCC wrote to all Devon MPs requesting a date to meet with headteachers from schools within their constituency. This provided the opportunity to discuss the inequity of funding within Devon schools and to give case studies directly to the local MP.

Meetings took place across the county on the following dates:

21 June:  Sarah Wollaston MP (Totnes)
28 June: Neil Parish MP (Tiverton & Honiton)
28 June: Gary Streeter MP (South West Devon)
5 July: Ben Bradshaw MP (Exeter)
11 July: Anne Marie Morris MP (Newton Abbot)
12 July: Peter Heaton-Jones (North Devon)
13 September: Mel Stride MP (Central Devon)

Schools are having to make difficult choices on how to spend their limited funding as their income has not kept pace with the rise in costs since 2010. All schools are working very hard to “make ends meet” but this is becoming increasingly difficult and verging on almost impossible.
